Last night the regular CBS Thursday schedule tied its season high (premiere night) with a 3.4 adult 18-49 rating in the fast nationals from 8-11 pm.  Last night is also up over the same night last year (2.8) and up over the season average last year at this point (3.2).  In contrast ABC and FOX are losing steam.  ABC last night (2.2) fell behind this fall’s Thursday average (2.5) and last fall’s Thursday average (2.6).  Similarly, FOX last night (2.3) is below this season’s average on the night (2.6) and way behind the FOX Thursday average at this point last fall (4.3).  NBC remains stuck in the mud: a 1.6 last night versus a 1.5 average so far this fall on Thursday and a 1.9 at this point last year on Thursday.

Thursday Night Football (Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills) on the NFL Network had no impact on the fast nationals.  The game aired locally in both markets on stations not affiliated with broadcast networks.  In Miami (market rank #16, 1.42% of the US) independent station WBFS 33 carried the game.  In Buffalo (market rank #52, 0.55% of the US), the game aired on independent station WBBZ 67.
