CBS: On a night when the other networks mostly didn’t choose to compete, some enormous upsets in the NCAA TOURNAMENT gave CBS a slam-dunk victory for the night with a (preliminary) 2.2, way higher than last year’s Day 2.
CW: NIKITA returned to the schedule after several weeks of reruns (that show has become so convoluted that its plots have gone way beyond double- and triple-crosses–it’s somewhere around octo-crosses by now) with a steady 0.5. SUPERNATURAL was down a bit from its last original to a still-good-for-CW 0.7.
ABC: The only other network with all-new programming benefited from the lack of competition. SHARK TANK and PRIMETIME were both up 0.3 from last week, while 20/20 (which did have to face a new Dateline) was up 0.1.
NBC: Reruns at 8PM of WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE and at 9PM of the newly-renewed GRIMM delivered twin 0.7 ratings. That didn’t provide much of a lead-in for DATELINE, which was down 0.3 from last week.
FOX: KITCHEN NIGHTMARES reruns delivered a 1.1, still enough to beat NBC for the night.
Tonight NCAA coverage continues on CBS. The low-rated Q’VIVA and 20/20: MY EXTREME AFFLICTION have original episodes on FOX and ABC, respectively, while NBC is all-repeat. On Sunday night, all the networks air new programming, but the biggest noise is likely to be on cable, where AMC has the season finale of THE WALKING DEAD.

Not much to say about a night when the networks weren’t even trying. ABC: Winner of the night with a whopping 1.1 average. The high point was a 1.4 for 20/20 at 10PM. NBC: The only network to air anything new for the night, even if it was DATELINE. …

Embattled ABC fared the best on a slow night. ABC: LAST MAN STANDING was down 0.2 from last week to 1.2, but things improved after that, as THE NEIGHBORS held at 0.9, SHARK TANK was easily the highest rated show of the night on any network, steady at 2.0,…
