THE SKED’S MONDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 10/22/12

An oddball night, thanks to the final PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE and sports.

NBC:  Normally it would be worth some concern that THE VOICE was down 0.6 from last week (still an easy winner at 4.2), but on such an atypical evening, it’s hard to know if the drop has any meaning.  Because NBC had the bulk of the 8PM audience, it also had the lion’s share of the Debate crowd for News Dept bragging rights.

ABC:  DANCING WITH THE STARS is currently up 0.3 to 2.4, but that includes ratings for an ESPN football simulcast in Detroit, so will likely come down.

FOX:  Preliminary numbers for Game 7 of the NLCS BASEBALL PLAYOFFS have it at 2.3.  That will come up, because of San Francisco’s involvement, but was still likely held back by football

CBS:  The network sat out the night with reruns from 8-9PM, both at 2.1.

CW:  90210 joined GOSSIP GIRL in 0.4 ignominy, and the network has to be concerned about the lead-in its Carrie Diaries is going to get when it arrives at midseason.

Tonight, ABC at long last launches its regular Tuesday line-up, with DANCING WITH THE STARS RESULTS at 8PM and the HAPPY ENDINGS/DON’T TRUST THE B– combo at 9PM.  That makes 9PM a suicide alley of sitcoms with Happy Endings vs. New Girl vs. Go On.  9:30PM, though, is skewed by FOX airing a special X FACTOR in the slot, due to last week’s wacky baseball rain delay.  Meanwhile, CW will hope for some sign of life from the 2d episode of EMILY OWENS MD.
