THE SKED’S THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/28/12

Post-Sweeps malaise.

NBC:  Cleveland must be feeling pretty good about its preemptions last night, as the 9-11PM regular network schedule averaged under a 1.0 rating, with 0.9s for a new 1600 PENN and rerun SVU, and a 1.0 for an OFFICE rerun.  COMMUNITY held even at 1.1 at 8PM, followed by 0.9 for a PARKS & RECREATION repeat.

ABC:  ZERO HOUR wasn’t able to capitalize on the relatively weak competition and slipped again to 1.0, and yet it was the highest rated show of ABC’s night, preceding 0.9 and 0.8 for repeats of SCANDAL and the post-Oscar JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE.

CBS:  One of CBS’s advantages is that its shows repeat better than those on any other network, and while it was far below its usual levels, THE BIG BANG THEORY still packed a punch at 2.8, followed by 2 1/2 MEN at 2.2, PERSON OF INTEREST at 1.9 and ELEMENTARY at 1.6.

FOX:  Naturally, against this virtual wasteland of competition, AMERICAN IDOL dominated the night.  Still, its 3.8 was down a tick from last Thursday.

CW:  Reruns of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at 0.4/0.3.

Tonight is relatively bountiful with new programming (mostly because the cast-offs that air on Fridays don’t feature into Sweeps plans in the first place), and only CBS is all reruns.
