CBS has announced what’s expected to be its last round of midseason schedule changes, affecting Thursdays and Fridays. Starting February 27, 2 1/2 MEN and THE CRAZY ONES will switch slots, with Crazy Ones moving to 9:30PM. That’s likely going to dent the Robin Williams series, which will get a lower lead-in from Men than it’s had from THE MILLERS, but it should boost Men a bit, suggesting that despite its high cost as a veteran show with an expensive cast and writing staff, Men could be back for another season. (Crazy Ones should be fairly safe for a renewal unless it collapses after this move.) Crazy Ones airs its last episode on April 17, and the following week BAD TEACHER will take its slot, hoping to make an impression before the fall 2014 schedule is set.
On Fridays, UNFORGETTABLE returns to the schedule at 8PM on April 4, taking over from UNDERCOVER BOSS (which will have run all its episodes for the season). No one is expecting a great deal from the series that ran in summer last year, but it should be compatible with the night’s other procedurals HAWAII 5-0 and BLUE BLOODS.
CBS doesn’t appear to be planning to air the legal soap RECKLESS during the regular season, which probably means a summer berth.
