You can’t go wrong with football.
FOX: Most of the major college bowl games have migrated to ESPN, but the COTTON BOWL remains on broadcast (for now), and gave FOX an easy win for the night, with a preliminary 3.1 rating in 18-49s that’s solidly higher than last year’s 2.5 for the game.
ABC: All the other networks experienced modest declines from the pre-holiday airings of their regular shows–whether that’s going to be a continuing issue or was a result of last night’s atypical competition isn’t yet clear. So at ABC, LAST MAN STANDING and MALIBU COUNTRY were down 0.1 and 0.3 from December, to a respective 1.4 and 1.2. SHARK TANK was down 0.1 to 1.8, and 20/20 was down 0.2 to 1.6.
CBS: Everything was down 0.1 from its last airing: UNDERCOVER BOSS to 1.5, CSI NY to 1.4, and BLUE BLOODS to 1.3.
NBC: After a pair of 0.6s for GO ON reruns, DATELINE was down 0.2 to 1.5.
CW: 2 hours of 0.3 reruns.
This afternoon and tonight will belong to NBC and the NFL WILD CARD GAMES. On Sunday, all the networks return to their regular line-ups, with NBC premiering the year’s return of THE BIGGEST LOSER, but FOX will have the benefit of the late NFL game leading in to primetime. The biggest non-football event of the weekend is the season premiere of DOWNTON ABBEY’s Season 3 on PBS.

A good night for some grizzled vets. CBS: After UNDERCOVER BOSS started the night with a 1.8 to win 8PM, CSI NY and BLUE BLOODS both hit season high 1.6s (the latter also winning its hour). The whole line-up was up 0.2-0.3 from last week. ABC: Everything here was up…

THE SKED’S FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 11/30/12
Good news for ABC’s sitcoms. ABC: LAST MAN STANDING and MALIBU COUNTRY, newly gifted with 5-episode backorders, justified their continued life by rising to 1.6/1.5, a tick or two up from recent weeks. A rerun SHARK TANK and a new 20/20 won their hours with 1.6 and 1.7, respectively. CBS: …

Fringe moves on to another universe. FOX: After years of lousy ratings, it would have been unrealistic to expect FRINGE to suddenly grow an audience at the last minute, and it didn’t: the two-hour finale had a 1.0, which was up 0.2 from last week, but barely managed to beat…
