KILLER WOMEN is another ABC TBD for midseason, this one starring Tricia Helfer (from Battlestar Galactica) as a Texas Ranger.
Did you know women can be Texas Rangers these days? Hot women, too! No kidding. Killer Women is by far the most generic of ABC’s drama orders for next season, and it seems to be made for the audience that considers women with guns to be the most exciting thing since FM radio. It’s a straightforward procedural that doesn’t look better or worse than others of its ilk. Helfer has certainly proven on BSG that she can play beautiful-and-dangerous, and that’s about all there is here. (Considering that the story takes place on the Texas/Mexico border and that its producers include Sofia Vergara, ABC could have at least considered casting the lead with a less Anglo actress.) Killer Women appears to be suitable for plugging in schedule holes where needed, and otherwise forgettable.
