CRISTELA had a fair start.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment) Friday, the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
ABC: On a night when only a single show on any network scored higher than 1.3, 1.3 counts as a good number. CRISTELA provided a small lift from its LAST MAN STANDING lead-in (down 0.1 from last week to 1.2), with which it was extremely compatible in all key demos, and convincingly beat its–admittedly wretched–competition in its timeslot for a promising launch. That one show head and shoulders above the others was, of course, SHARK TANK, steady with last week’s 1.9. 20/20 was down 0.1 to 1.2.
CBS: THE AMAZING RACE fell 0.1 to 1.1, then both HAWAII 5-0 and BLUE BLOODS remained at 1.3/1.2.
NBC: After reruns of its Thursday sitcoms (0.7/0.5), DATELINE lost 0.1 to 1.0.
FOX: What remains of UTOPIA gained 0.1 to 0.7, then a GOTHAM rerun was at 0.4.
CW: The new WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY jumped 0.2 to 0.6, then AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL stayed at 0.4.
Tonight’s primetime is the usual Saturday mix of sports and reruns. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE is hosted by old friend Bill Hader, with musical guest Hozier. On Sunday, the only point of interest on the broadcast networks is whether MULANEY (which for unclear reasons is scheduled to be preceded by a rerun FAMILY GUY) will sink farther from its dim debut. The excitement will be on cable, where Showtime premieres its buzzed-about THE AFFAIR, but where the vast masses of viewers will be gathering for the season premiere of THE WALKING DEAD.
