UPDATE: The NCAA TOURNAMENT games on CBS adjusted to 1.0/1.3. HART OF DIXIE lost 0.1 in final numbers, lessening its chances of survival. SHARK TANK and 20/20 went up 0.1.
FRIDAY CABLE: The NCAA TOURNAMENT primetime game on TNT (Providence/North Carolina) outrated its broadcast competition (Wichita State/Cal Poly) with 1.2. Other NCAA games on the Turner-owned stations were at 0.6-0.9, while daytime games were in the 0.4-0.5 area. The leading non-basketball original was SONS OF GUNS (Discovery) at 0.8, tied with WWE (Syfy), the latter followed by 0.4 for HELIX. ROBOT CHICKEN (Adult Swim) was at 0.7.
ABC: SHARK TANK was once again the Friday night highlight for broadcast TV, holding at 2.0. 20/20 was down 0.2 to 1.7. In the 8PM hour, THE NEIGHBORS was slightly up to 0.9, despite having a rerun LAST MAN STANDING (0.9) as lead-in.
CW: On the first all-new Friday for CW in quite a while, WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY had 0.6s in both back-to-back episodes, half the ratings it premiered with last summer, but up 0.1 from its summer finale. The Friday premiere of HART OF DIXIE was at 0.4, up 0.1 from its last Monday airing (where it led off the night).
NBC: The absence of CBS’s dramas didn’t help GRIMM, down 0.1 to 1.5, and HANNIBAL stayed at 0.9. At 8PM, DATELINE was up 0.3 to 1.4.
FOX: Another Friday of oblivion, with 0.5 for RAKE (same as last week) and 0.4 for RAISING HOPE (down 0.1). A rerun ENLISTED in between was at 0.4.
CBS: The NCAA TOURNAMENT numbers will be adjusted on Monday, but for the moment the two primetime network games are at 1.0/1.3, up a bit from last year’s pre-adjustment Friday of 0.9/1.2 and also slightly up from Thursday.
NCAA TOURNAMENT coverage continues tonight, which is otherwise a mix of reruns and repackaged news shows on broadcast TV; on cable, Starz premieres Season 2 of DAVINCI’S DEMONS. Sunday is all new, with the cable highlight being HBO’s season finale of GIRLS.
