NETWORK UPDATE: HANNIBAL provided a reminder of how low its license fee must be by falling even further in final numbers to 0.7. Both the original and rerun episodes of WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY fell 0.1, while 20/20 gained 0.1 from the early numbers.
FRIDAY CABLE: Once again, all that really registered was sports, with the NBA PLAYOFFS on ESPN on top, scoring 2.1 (Clippers/Thunder) and 1.,2 (Pacers/Wizards). Remarkably, even a reairing of the Clippers/Thunder game at the ungodly hour of 3:30AM brought in a healthy 0.5. The 2d round of the NFL DRAFT, also on ESPN, continued to draw well at 1.1 (plus 0.6 for NFL Network coverage). NHL PLAYOFFS on NBC Sports Network and WWE on Syfy were both at 0.7.
Another very mild sweeps night.
ABC: Without the strong lead-in it had last week (this week the 8PM slot was filled with one of its own reruns at 1.0), SHARK TANK fell 0.4 to 1.9. 20/20 followed, down 0.2 to 1.5.
CBS: A night of season finales had mixed results, as UNFORGETTABLE and BLUE BLOODS slipped 0.1 to a respective 0.8 and 1.4, while HAWAII 5-0 climbed 0.1 to 1.3.
NBC: DATELINE and GRIMM both held even with last week at 1.2/1.3, while HANNIBAL demonstrated how low its just-renewed license fee must be by falling 0.1 to 0.8.
CW: Both WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY and the just-renewed HART OF DIXIE rose, respectively by 0.2 to 0.6 (a rerun afterward was at 0.5, also up from last week), and by 0.1 to 0.3.
FOX: A rerun of the 24 season premiere at 0.3.
ABC and FOX liven up primetime tonight with NBA PLAYOFFS and NASCAR. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE is hosted by Charlize Theron (soon to be seen in A Million Ways To Die In the West), with musical guests The Black Keys. On Sunday, ABC airs the season finales of ONCE UPON A TIME and REVENGE, NBC launches its 2-part remake of ROSEMARY’S BABY, and Showtime premieres its own horror series PENNY DREADFUL.
