The Sked: PROMO WATCH — Tuesday October 11 Update

>ShowBuzzDaily’s PROMO WATCH shows that FOX really has to suffer through the Postseason.  Last night FOX had to air two 30-second generic promos for the Postseason itself (no days and times mentioned, just FOX and TBS network names at the end).  The MLB broadcasters are contractually obligated to carry these spots, and they come at the expense of promos for network shows.  The one FOX show that did get attention last night was The X Factor, which airs tonight.

CBS is now pushing the two struggling dramas Unforgettable and Person of Interest most heavily.  It didn’t pay off for Unforgettable, which hit a series low 2.3 last night (after starting at a 2.9).  Somehow Unforgettable continues to win Tuesday at 10 because the competition is even worse.  We’ll see how Person of Interest fares this week.

NBC’s top priorities are Prime Suspect and Up All Night, although not at very high levels (NBC has a fairly wide top tier).  The two freshmen series are struggling, but they are the best of a weak crop so they have to get behind them…in a sort of solid way.

ABC’s priority ranking is skewed by the premiere of Last Man Standing, which they supported very well — and to great effect last night.  They also used the hour to push Wednesday comedies (both in generic spots about the block and in episode-specific spots).  Man Up! also received a minute of promotion last night (two :30’s).  ABC is entering a cycle of comedic success, where two comedy blocks on adjacent nights can feed each other viewers.
