That didn’t take long.
ABC: At twin 1.6s, LAST MAN STANDING and MALIBU COUNTRY are still “hits” by Friday standards. (Just ask NBC, which has been calling Grimm a hit for a year and a half with ratings at that level.) But they’re way down from last week’s 2.0 and 2.3, and that’s with NBC barely bothering to compete in the hour. Still, this is probably at or above the numbers ABC expected from the sitcoms, so if they can stabilize there, all will be well. The lower lead-in dinged SHARK TANK to 2.1, down 0.2 from last week, but still the highest-rated show of the night, and enough to give ABC the nightly victory. 20/20 edged up to 1.6, winning its hour.
CBS: What was bad for ABC was good for UNDERCOVER BOSS, up a big 0.5 from last week to win the 8PM hour. However, that didn’t help CSI NY, which was down a bit to 1.4. BLUE BLOODS was up 0.2 to 1.5, taking 2d place in the 10PM hour.
FOX: KITCHEN NIGHTMARES continues not to fire for FOX, up 0.2 from last week but still in 3rd place at 8PM with 1.2. FRINGE is stuck at 0.9 as it moves toward its January finale.
NBC: After an 0.6/0.7 hour of sitcom reruns that was just slightly ahead of CW at 8PM, GRIMM scored a 1.7, down a notch from last week but handily ahead of all the scripted competition, and this time without the special lead-ins it’s had the past 2 weeks (Mockingbird Lane and the Hurricane Sandy telethon). DATELINE was up 0.2 from last week, but its 1.3 still put it in 3rd place at 10PM.
CW: AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, heading toward its cycle finale, was up 0.2 to a very decent 0.6. NIKITA, though, which will move back to 8PM after Top Model is done for the fall, remained pathetic at 0.3.
Tonight’s primetime schedule is all college football and reruns. SNL is hosted by Anne Hathaway (well in advance of the Christmas Day opening of her Les Miserables), with musical guest Rihanna. On Sunday, everything is new, with FOX featuring a special 1-hour episode of FAMILY GUY.

>FRINGE needs another timeline.FOX: FRINGE fell back to a 1.0, which looks even worse because Grimm was up this week, making last week’s tie a dim memory. Still, these aren’t very different from the numbers that got the show renewed last season, so it’s not dead yet. THE FINDER, on…

A newsmagazine took the crown on a mostly down night. NBC: There must have been some reason why DATELINE zoomed 0.6 from last week, increasing its rating by more than 50% and topping the night with a 1.7. Whatever it was, the show should consider trying it again. The evening…

A good night for some grizzled vets. CBS: After UNDERCOVER BOSS started the night with a 1.8 to win 8PM, CSI NY and BLUE BLOODS both hit season high 1.6s (the latter also winning its hour). The whole line-up was up 0.2-0.3 from last week. ABC: Everything here was up…
